PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – ANGELES DISTRICT / FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT / MALIBU CREEK STATE PARK

The reporting location for this position is Malibu Creek State Park. This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief I.

The incumbent will supervise the overall maintenance operations of the Sector, which is comprised of Malibu Creek State Park, Adamson House, Malibu Lagoon, Malibu Pier, Point Mugu SP, Leo Carrillo SP, RH Meyer Beaches, and Point Dume Preserve. At times the incumbent may work district wide to provide support to sectors as needed with district managed projects. The incumbent will assist in developing the Sector’s maintenance budget, facilitate the purchase of new and replacement equipment; will manage maintenance seasonal funds and ensure proper training and safety procedures for assigned park units/sector maintenance employees. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure all facilities and equipment is kept safe and operational. These park units serve the Ventura and Los Angeles inland valleys to the coast, including 22,000 acres of back country fire road and public trails. The incumbent will comply with all Maximo requirements, documenting facility maintenance work orders and property.

The work schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR .

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs, or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

Working Conditions

Outdoors in a park like setting. Regular dealing with the public and supervising work in the public view. Operating vehicles on unimproved back country roads.
