PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / SAN JOAQUIN SECTOR / MILLERTON SRA

The reporting location for this position is at the Millerton Lake State Recreation Area in Friant, CA. This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief I.

The Park Maintenance Supervisor (PMS) will oversee daily housekeeping, facility and grounds maintenance, vehicle and equipment management, and related maintenance operations while providing leadership, supervision, training, and employee development opportunities to maintenance staff. The PMS works closely with Park, Sector, and District staff to plan and complete maintenance projects and ensure facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition. The incumbent maintains cooperative and professional relationships with visitors, contractors, vendors, community partners, and local, State, and Federal agencies. The position keeps the Park Maintenance Chief I informed of project progress, operational concerns, sensitive or controversial issues, and the overall status of the maintenance program.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR .

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs, or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

Working Conditions

May work holidays and weekends; working outdoors in natural elements, in heat and inclement weather. May be expected to walk long distances in rough terrain, on trails and backcountry. Expected to lift and carry up to sixty pounds; use of hand tools, gas and electric powered tools, and heavy equipment as certified.
