HHDC is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our property management team at our Section 8 housing apartments in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have affordable housing experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to support day-to-day property operations. Schedule & Compensation Full-Time: 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday–Friday Pay Rate: $20.00–$23.00 per hour Essential Job Functions

• Assists the Property Manager with daily property operations.
• Processes resident recertifications, rent calculations, leases, and required documentation.
• Conducts regular inspections of grounds and common areas.
• Monitors vacant units and make-ready status.
• Assists with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and eviction procedures.
• Conducts resident home visits and community outreach as needed.
• Serves as a liaison between residents and community agencies.
• Assists with oversight of office staff, maintenance staff, and contractors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Affordable housing experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of multifamily property management experience.
• Must have or obtain an Illinois Leasing Agent License within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
• Strong customer service and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and property management software.
• Vehicle, insurance, and good driving record required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
